Lorraine Laboratory of Molecular Chemistry (L2CM) UMR 7053

The L2CM is a UMR CNRS-University of Lorraine (UMR 7053) born in January 2018 headed by Philippe Gros (DR1-CNRS) which gathers about 70 people working geographically in Nancy (Faculté des Sciences et Technologies & Campus Brabois Santé) and Metz (Institut de Chimie, Physique et Matériaux). The objective of the L2CM is to develop innovative methods for the synthesis of molecules and molecular materials with applications in physics (catalysis, energy, luminescence) and biology (antibacterials, drug delivery, imaging). The philosophy of the laboratory is the design of the molecule to the device or the bioactive system based on on a set of synthesis and characterization platforms. The research is conducted along two axes:

The XXVI EFMC International Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry will take place in Basel, Swizerland from September 6 to 10, 2020.

The 2020 edition will cover advances in drug discovery in major therapeutic areas, including the treatment of bacterial and viral infections, diseases related to the CNS, heart disease, fibrotic diseases and cancer.

Several sessions will be dedicated to advances in synthetic methodology for drug discovery.
