Historical

The L2CM (Laboratoire Lorrain de Chimie Moléculaire) comes from the SRSMC laboratory (Structure and Reactivity of Complex Molecular Systems, UMR7565) created in 1997 and recognized for the development of a multidisciplinary approach "Chemistry, Physics and Biology "of the study of various molecular systems. The laboratory was successively run by Jean-Louis Rivail, Yves Chapleur, Yves Fort and Philippe Gros until 2017.

Following a reflection focused on experimental molecular chemistry, based on recognized research activities such as organometallic synthesis and controlled structure materials at the interface of physics and biology, the project of L2CM laboratory was born. This new laboratory has been recognized since 1 January 2018 by the University of Lorraine and the CNRS, which have granted it the status of Mixed Research Unit (UMR 7053).
